Let Accident Centers of Texas Help You Maximize Your Fitness and Recovery from Sports Injury
It’s May—that means that spring is fully here and summer is just around the corner. May is also National Fitness and Sports Month—a time to get yourself into great shape, so you can fully enjoy the great summer weather and activities in Texas.
When you’ve been inactive for a few months, though, you can be prone to injury if you just jump right back into recreational sports. The professionals at Accident Centers of Texas can work closely with you to craft a fitness program, one that gently and gradual gets you back into condition to do the things you love to do. We can show you exercises to rebuild your strength and endurance, as well as your mobility, so that you can play as injury-free as possible.
Of course, if you’re like most of us, you play as hard as you work. We’ll be there if you suffer any type of injury. Some ways that you can minimize the risk of a trip to our offices, though, include:
- Working your way gradually back into a sport—go out and play catch a few times before you play your first ballgame, or hit a few tennis balls of the wall before your first match.
- Always stretch before and after you participate in any type of recreational sport. That will minimize the risk of spraining or tearing connective tissue.
- Watch the heat!! Even in May, the temperatures in Texas can be oppressive. Don’t be one of the nearly 70,000 Americans who end up at a hospital emergency room every year from heat exhaustion.
