Setting Goals that You Can Achieve and that Will Improve Your Overall Health
You’ve been too busy to stay healthy and it’s caught up with you, but you’re ready for a change. You are ready to commit to the necessary lifestyle changes to be stronger and less susceptible to injury or illness. Let’s look at some fitness goals for 2023 that you can achieve:
- Get more cardiovascular exercise—The simplest way to do this—go out for a walk. Walking offers a wide range of benefits—in addition to working the muscles in your heart (which will make it stronger and healthier), walking also helps keep your legs and your core strong, so that you optimize your lower body balance and coordination.
- Join the resistance—If you want the benefits of weight training with a safer approach, get yourself a set of resistance bands. They are particularly effective for building lean muscle, but they can also help you improve your posture, burn fat, and relieve stress. You can get a great workout by using them for 30 minutes, three times a week.
- Make certain you stretch—The best way to minimize the risk of injury? Make certain you’ve gently stretched your muscles before engaging in any physical activity. Take two minutes before you get out of bed and stretch your legs and arms. Touch your toes every day, but do it gently and hold it for 30 seconds. Before exercise, you want to focus on stretches that involve movement. After a workout, static stretches are fine.
